“Without doubt the most professional trekking company I have trekked with” Due to the ‘wet season’ experienced on Lombok, there are times of the year when Mount Rinjani National Park is closed for trekking for safety reasons. With an average of 400mm of rain (16 inches of rain) during this period, it would not be a very nice experience to be on Mount Rinjani anyway. Generally the park is closed from January 1 until March 31st, though this can vary depending on the seasons.  Climbing during the wet season is not possible due to the steep slopes, and slippery conditions which make it particularly dangerous.  Try to plan your trek dates so that you can avoid the wet and associated wind and cold temperatures.  Mount Rinjani may be located in the tropics, but due to the altitude in the upper areas, it does get cold (down to 6 degrees Celsius!) Important dates: We do not operate 3 days before and 3 days after ‘Idul Fitri’ (also known as ‘Lebaran’), which is one of the major holidays in Indonesia, and falls on June 5,6,7 and June 8, 9, 10 ‘Idul Fitri’ marks the end of Ra-madam (the holy month of fasting for Muslims around the world) and so is a very important period. To enquire about actual trek dates, contact us direct.  Generally we have different treks departing on average every two days during the trekking season, so contact us to find what treks are departing to where and when. Mount Rinjani Treks offer both private and shared treks.  Private treks offer a more personalised service and allow all members of the trek party to your group only.  Shared treks provide a great way for smaller groups to join together and meet new friends with similar interests.  We always try to match our guests with other guests of similar ages.
“It was my first trek, but it certainly won’t be my last!  Loved it!” Even if we don’t have a trek planned for the date you would like, things can change very quickly.  If we receive sufficient interest for a particular date, we may conduct an additional trek to cater to the needs of our guests, just let us know where you would like to go and what you would like to see, the expected numbers of guests for the trek, and any information you feel we will need. If we do receive sufficient interest, we will immediately contact you to inform you that a trek for your dates is possible.
