“Our fast boat transfer from Bali to Lombok was a highlight, but it had nothing on our trek!” There are two ways to get to Lombok, by air, or by fast-boat. Fast boats operate all over Indonesia and are a cost effective way to get around between the many islands. Transfers from the island of Bali usually include a short ride in a vehicle to the boat departure point, and this is included in the cost of the boat transfer. Most boats depart from Serangan Harbour on Bali (very close to Denpasar) and travel via the Gili Islands, then stopping at Teluk Nara Harbour on Lombok.  This is where your transfer vehicle will meet you for the transfer to Senaru on the day prior to your trek commencing.
“Our trek to Rinjani was just awesome.  Everyone is still raving about it” The boat ride from Serangan Harbour (near Denpasar) on Bali to Teluk Kode harbour on Lombok is approximately two and a half hours, though this does of course depend on the weather on the day of your travel. There are numerous Fast-boat operators offering this route, some with better safety records than others. We highly recommend Bluewater Express, a highly reputable operator offering the best safety record, boats built to high international standards, professional staff and boat crew, and most of all, they are almost always on time.  Bluewater Express will pick you up from any location around Denpasar (airport, accommodation, or other preferred location) and take you direct to the boat departure point at Serangan Harbour in time to catch your boat to Lombok. While the seas around Bali and Lombok are generally very smooth, at times there can be waves, so if you do suffer from motion sickness at all, we suggest you book your transfer for an early departure time (8.00am) in the day when the seas are much calmer and smooth. Cost of tickets is approximately US$60.00 per person including luggage. You can book direct with Bluewater Express by clicking here, or if you prefer you can find other fast-boat operators by clicking here.
GETTING TO LOMBOK BY FAST BOAT
When you arrive at Teluk Kode boat harbour on Lombok, your driver and vehicle will greet you as you reach the beach area…  he will be holding a sign with your surname on it, so simply introduce yourself, and you are on your way to Senaru. The transfer from Teluk Kode boat harbour to Senaru takes approximately 1.5 hours, so sit back, relax, and take in the beautiful scenery. As all treks leave Senaru early in the morning, it is essential that all guests stay the night prior to their trek commencement at Senaru. Your trek co-ordinator will visit you at your accommodation the night before the trek to ensure that you know the routine for the next day, and to answer any questions you may have.  They will also check that you have everything necessary for the trek, such as the right clothing and foot-wear, so don’t be offended if they ask lots of questions!
