“I first climbed Rinjani when I was 13 years old…  I knew then that this is what I wanted to do!” CEO MOUNT RINJANI TREKS The founder of Mount Rinjani Treks  began his trekking career as a porter, carrying all the necessary equipment, food and water for one of the first trekking companies at Mount Rinjani. Having been born in the remote village of Senaru, which is perched on the very northern slopes of Mount Rinjani volcano, Mount Rinjani was a part of his daily life, with its imposing form always visible from anywhere in the village. Having climbed Mount Rinjani so often that he can no longer recall just how many times, but he became disenchanted with the endless complaints from guests about poor quality food, camping equipment, and in general the poor manner in which the trekking business was being run, and so after discussions with the most highly regarded trek guides and porters in the Senaru and Sembalun areas, he was encouraged to start his own business. Mount Rinjani Treks has grow substantially over the years to become the most respected trekking operation to take guests to Mount Rinjani,  now working with international agencies to provide all “on the ground” services on their behalf. One of the founding principles which has always been adhered to is a maximum trek group size of 10 guests per trek group. This allows Mount Rinjani Treks to offer not only a very personal service to guests, but to ensure that they are kept safe at all times.
“The best organised trek I have ever been on”  TRIP ADVISOR GUEST COMMENT To ensure the best experience possible for guests, Mount Rinjani Treks maintain a specific ratio of tour guides and porters per guest.  By ensuring there is always a guide close by to answer questions, offer encouragement, or simply to lend a hand in the more difficult sections of the climb, guests are assured that their climb will be as enjoyable as possible. All trek team members speak English, and lesser amounts of languages such as French, German, Russian, plus many others!
ABOUT MOUNT RINJANI TREKS
“While it was probably the hardest thing I have ever done, it was definitely the most rewarding!”  GUEST COMMENT Porters will carry all camping equipment, food supplies etc., so guests need only carry a small day-pack containing their personal items. All camp-sites are set up by the porters and are ready when guests arrive at each camping area… this allows our guests to spend their extra time as they would like, whether it be a swim in Crater Lake, or simply to relax and enjoy the stunning views.
